One of Meridian's first commercial installations was a PV array that provided shaded parking outside Austin Bergstrom International Airport. When the array had to be relocated to make way for the Palmer Events Center, Austin Energy contracted Meridian to re-install the array so that it could shade taxis awaiting fares. Meridian's installation generates electricity without emitting CO2, offsetting the greenhouse gasses released by idling cabs.
