McKinney Green Building
Project #: 274
System Power Rating: 45 kW
Location: McKinney, TX

Located on a three acre site, the 60,000 sq. ft. class A office building developed by West World Holding, Inc., is the first pre-certified privately held Core & Shell LEED Platinum building in the United States. Designed by HDR Architects the project represents a landmark effort with regards to indoor environmental quality, conservation, and energy efficiency.

The building will use 74% less energy than a typical office building of the same size through a combination of design and technology. For the energy the building does require, Meridian designed and installed a roof-mounted 45 kW solar-electric array consisting of 144 Schott ASE 315 Watt modules and a Xantrex PV Series inverter, the performance of which will be monitored remotely. This system provides over 10% of the building's energy requirements with Green Mountain Energy providing 100% of the remaining electrical energy needed.
