I also met with a neighbor who had used that company. Looking back on our conversation, I should have been alarmed at what I heard from that neighbor but I figured that was a one-time occurrence. After speaking with Austin Energy and determining that it was permissible to switch installer's, I elected to go with Meridian and could not be happier with my decision to switch. Your in-kind donation enabled our team to participate in the first ever National Solar Decathlon competition, a contest to design, build and operate an attractive house powered only by the sun. The competition was held in Washington, D.C. from September 26 to October 6, 2002. Over 120,000 people descended upon the National Mall in DC to visit our solar home and view all of its energy saving products. We earned an eighth place ranking in the competition overall, but were also awarded with the Best Logistics Plan, for providing an excellent, detailed, and realistic plan for installation and disassembly of our house on the Mall.
